Mr. Klaus is a partner at Klaus Doupé. He joined the law firm as an associate attorney in 2001 and became a shareholder in 2005. Mr. Klaus has achieved the AV Preeminent rating from Martindale-Hubble, which recognizes lawyers for outstanding achievement and demonstrates that a lawyer has earned the highest rating available for their legal ability and professional ethics. He is a current member of the Collier County Bar Association, past-chair of the Family Law Section and immediate past-chair of the Trial Lawyer’s Section. Mr. Klaus is a member of the Florida Bar and the Family Law Section of the Florida Bar; a Master of the Bench member of the Thomas S. Biggs Chapter of the American Inns of Court; and, a Board Vice President of the Mental Health Association of Southwest Florida.
Prior to joining Klaus Doupé, Mr. Klaus worked as an assistant state attorney for the Twentieth Judicial Circuit in Naples, Florida, focusing on the prosecution of juvenile delinquency cases, many of which involved issues of domestic violence. He has been licensed with the Florida Bar since 1997 and with the United States District Court, Middle District of Florida, since 1999.
Mr. Klaus received his Juris Doctorate from Mercer University, in Macon, Georgia. During law school, he received the Faculty Award for Outstanding Achievement in Legal Writing. Mr. Klaus received his undergraduate degree in Liberal Studies with minors in Psychology, History, and Communications from the University of Central Florida in 1993.
